Hi again!
Finally it is my turn to share some thoughts in the blog again, this time with a new theme:
– Preserve your art in pictures.
Finally it is my turn to share some thoughts in the blog again, this time with a new theme:
– Preserve your art in pictures.
Hope you all are well and that you can enjoy the wonderful heat wave we have been given for a short time. As for many others in this profession, it is difficult to arrange a longer holiday. I make sure to catch the summer between my clients and those sweet summer evenings.
Now to the theme. For me, it’s a high priority to catch the beauty in newly made nails in pictures. The picture for me is an extension of the art and also what I proudly show in my shop window – social media. You could say that the pictures are like a dessert, a reward for the work I have created. It is also a pleasure to inspire others with both nails and photos.
A display window of this type is open all hours of the day, which means that we have a responsibility to relate to and take care of our customers when we lend their hands for a picture. It is very important to ask your customers if it is okay to publish a picture of their hands on social platforms. We have no idea about the client’s history, it can be that simple that the client for various reasons does not want anyone to know where he/she is or what he/she has done. I get the feeling that in my clientele they are eagerly waiting for the pictures to be taken in all thousands of angles and then published on my social media.
Speaking of angles! On my Instagram page you can see the variation of nails and in all angles. I always try to highlight the nails in the picture with the right angles/light without letting the background or other objects take over the picture. The best prop is from the surroundings, which can be the house wall, the flowers in the vase, the client’s jewelery/clothes or why not the cup from which the customer just drank coffee.
Some nails turn out best to shoot in their simplicity under the light at the work table, while others fit and look good in daylight together with the outfit and purse. No design lasts forever and no matter how beautiful they are, we remove the art after just four weeks so take the opportunity to look back, inspire others and especially see your own development.
From time to time, I get asked what camera I use. I would like to say that a good looking and attractive image requires no “fancy” camera. I use my smartphone and it is full of cracks and the lens gets polished frequently during a photo shoot =)
I want to finish ogg in the same spirit as my first blog post. Feel free to be inspired by me or others without comparing yourself! You are the only You so try to find your way to show your work in the picture, find your flair. I hope you found inspiration from my post and good luck with your pictures.
