Today it’s time to talk about something super important, important for you personally but also for your business. There are few things that are as important as education to make your business feel up to date and exciting. Because the truth is that you will never be perfect!
Investing in education doesn’t only means personal development, inspiration and a more fun job, but it also means that customers see that you invest in yourself, you invest your time and money to make your customers happy. My customers often ask if I have taken a course recently and are curious and would like to try something new, it makes my job more varied which is super fun!
“Ok, I get it”, you think, “but there’s been corona and tough times, what if I can not afford to invest in education right now?” These are actually fantastic times and you can of course learn and grow without paying for a course! On moonflair’s facebook, we have one hour of training every Monday, which you get for free! There are different themes every time and all the girls are amazingly talented so it is perfect for learning and getting inspiration. Youtube and instagram are also great for finding tutorials where you can learn a lot.
But IF you have the opportunity, I would still strike a blow to invest in education for so many reasons. You get personal help from your teacher which is absolutely invaluable, a youtube clip does not say that you are holding the brush wrong to get the perfect one stroke flower. You get feedback and help with things to keep in mind and you have a teacher to talk afterwards if something feels unclear when you start working at home.
Another thing that is absolutely amazing about physical education is that you get to know new people in the industry. Us nail techs are often quite alone in our workplaces and it is fantastic to meet and talk to others who have similar experiences, to gett feedback on how to handle different types of clients and more.
Online training is also a great way to learn new things and still get help and feedback from a teacher. The online classes often have a lower price and are also a great alternative for you who do not live in a big city as there are maybe not that many physical classes around if you do not want to travel. A hot tip is that Moonflair will soon start with online training, so keep your eyes wide open!
Now I just want to give you two pieces of advice before I end this post.
1. Be picky and choose carefully! It pays off, I promise.
2. It is actually not that long until it is time to make the budget for next year, then doon’t forget to budget for education. It is always easier to jump on a course if you have already expected to attend x number of courses this year.
